University of Michigan Medical School - Department of Pharmacology - Biomedical Mass Spectroscopy Facility

NEWS & EVENTS: Press Releases | Industry Events | Application Photos

The University of Michigan Medical School Biomedical Mass Spectrometry Facility (Department of Pharmacology) is an instrumentation laboratory that offers HPLC and mass spectrometry services and provides access to modern mass spectrometric techniques and state-of-the-art instrumentation to address a wide range of research problems.  The focus of the laboratory is on the characterization and quantification of small molecules with special emphasis on biomarkers, drugs, and drug metabolites for pharmacological analyses.  The Facility offers training for independent operation of instruments as well as sample analysis by Facility personnel as an outsourcing laboratory.

Franek Technologies’ certified power protection systems currently protect all of the research instrumentation and electronics within the Biomedical Mass Spectrometry Facility, including Thermo Electron's LTQ
® and TSQ® Liquid Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometers, along with the Waters® CapLC XE and Alliance® 2695 XE Modular System High Performance Liquid Chromatographs.  The University of Michigan Biomedical Mass Spectrometry Facility is protected against power fluctuations or failure that would otherwise cause costly damage to instrumentation, loss of samples and data, as well as significant lost productive time.  The Biomedical Mass Spectrometry Facility is additionally protected from power abnormalities (brown-outs, sags, surges etc caused by summer heat waves, the thunderstorm season, and ice storms.
